Abstract

As an effort to recover the lost word in the immediacy of the moment and the enunciation, History of the Idea of Time is offered as a bridge to the vivid experience of Henri Bergson's (1859-1941) thought. This is a work that acquires value in more than one sense, starting with the fact that it is unpublished material, despite Bergson having requested that his manuscripts, notes, or lectures not be published; also because of the theme it presents and the very form in which it is presented. History of the Idea of Time, whose Spanish translation for the Paidós publishing house was carried out by Adriana Alfaro and Luz Noguez, is the beginning of a project started by Presses Universitaires de France (PUF) to publish the courses of the French philosopher, preserved thanks to the transcription by Charles Péguy, who religiously sought the greatest fidelity to the words. This edition is based on other courses published in 1990 with the authorization of Henri Gouhier, Bergson’s testamentary executor.
