The purpose of this article is to present the elements of private school education that contribute to the precariousness of teaching work in Colombia, for which we applied a survey to 318 teachers from private schools throughout the country. We asked, among other matters, about the contractual and labor conditions in which they work. We found that the intensification of the working day, the use of personal time for tasks associated with the institution, low remuneration, fixed-term contracts, and the impossibility to set up associations are the most recurring manifestations of precariousness among the participants, which have as a fundamental scaffolding the current legislation for this type of education.
