Abstract

This text seeks a relation between poetry and cinema linked by the notion of «image». Prior section enquires into language and poetry, guided by the hand of M. Blanchot or J. Paulhan. Many has thought that poetical language distinguishes from ordinary one by form, or by using certain rhetorical resources, or by the expression of higher thoughts or noble emotions. We discuss it here. Blanchot approaches the matter arguing that the work of poetry refutes language, it’s a rejection of language (by language itself), and this way, a reversion of language to its image. Poetry is language turned into image. The second section, in agreement with G. Deleuze, explores the essence of cinematographic image and underlines its explicit relation with time. Unrooted images in constant migration that block every stillness in the present, making a hole in the restriction of present. Putting into question the nature of image to thicken the past in the present (representing), we bind together cinema and poetry, both that have rejected the task of revealing the reality as present, undressing, otherwise, its absence.
