Abstract

The term queer, as a performative act, can be understood as a hermeneutic mechanism that allows an approximation to diverse cultural and artistic productions, one of the most significant being cinema, where various resources of audiovisual language represent a range of practices that go further beyond heteronormative binary schemas. This work aims to offer a queer approach to the film by Yann González Knife + Heart, from 2018, where the limits of identity politics are shown through a discourse that embraces possibilities and obstacles, agencies and panoptics, lines of escape on the daily violence that lands on the LGBTIQ+ collective and a dreamlike language that works as a catalyst for a vindictive but also transgressive discourse.
