A reflective analysis is presented about the novel La sombra del Caudillo by Mexican author Martín Luis Guzmán, where is criticized, from the literary art, the post-revolutionary warlordism and the vice to maintain the political power at the same hegemonic group. It is intended to relate the literary work to the reality of the Mexican Political System, and to demonstrate that the political group in domain founds its hegemony in the warlordism tradition. As a foundation is used the political theory developed by Daniel Cosío Villegas to understand how Martin Luis Guzman details the essence of the warlordism tradition through his narrative.
