Intervention from Social Work in a family with a member with disabilities belonging to the Colombian Military Forces

Abstract

The present process of systematization of experiences describes the intervention made from Social Work to a family accordion type with a member with a disability belonging to the Colombian Military Forces. Through family intervention, carried out from a psychosocial approach and from a systemic model and crisis intervention, it was possible to strengthen elements related to the internal and external dynamics of the family with respect to emotional ties, communication styles, coping tools. Establishing guidelines of upbringing with standards setting, strengthening the paternal role, adequate resolution of conflicts, management of a patient at home, guidance on the institutional offer of services and programs for the comprehensive care of people with disabilities. Also, it was possible to appreciate how the methodological techniques used (semi-structured interviews, home visits, role play, social record, ecomapa, among others) in this process have been the object of interest by the academic community since they are analyzed and they link to significant learning, thus recognizing prior knowledge and the set of strategies to facilitate the research work, given that it leaves satisfactory results in relation to the proposed objectives, enabling interpretation, analysis and reflection against the intervention process carried out from the Social Work area to this family system.
